Parent & Infant Emotional Wellbeing (PIEW) training
The first 1001 critical days in a baby’s life are invaluable for starting to build a strong attachment between a baby and parents. Building strong brain connections for a solid emotional foundation can be impactful on the lifetime outcomes for each child.
PIEW training will take place on the following dates at Family Hubs across Walsall
- November 2025 Thursday 27th November 2025 10:00am to 2:00pm at Manor Farm Community Association, King George Crescent, Walsall WS4 1EW
- January 2026 Wednesday 21st January 2026 10:00am to 2:00pm at Manor Farm Community Association, King George Crescent, Walsall WS4 1EW
- March 2026 Wednesday 18th March 2026 10:00am to 2:00pm at Manor Farm Community Association, King George Crescent, Walsall WS4 1EW

What does it offer?
This training will help you to reflect on the First 1001 Days (period from conception to age of two years) and why it is so vital for baby brain and relationships’ development.
It will also help you:
- Explore the relationship between parent/care-giver and baby and its effect on the emotional well-being of an infant
- Consider how baby’s behaviour is communication and that babies are born to communicate, using baby cues
- Consider how parents are pivotal to child’s emotional wellbeing with life long and generational impacts.
- Discuss how to support sensitive responsive care-giving
- Understand effect of trauma in parents’ past and how to work in a trauma-informed way
- Discuss how professionals support development of SECURE ATTACHMENT styles and offer timely support where this is needed
- Understand baby sense’s
- Learn about Walsall’s pathways to support parent and infant emotional well-being
The training is a one-off four hour face to face training session facilitated by Family Hubs Wellbeing team & Walsall Health Care NHS 0-19
The Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme is funded/supported by central government.
