The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
What to do if you have symptoms
Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:
- a high temperature
- a new continuous cough
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
You do not need to contact NHS 111 to tell them you're staying at home.
Read the advice about staying at home.
Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:
- you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Free GOV.UK coronavirus information service whatsapp simply add 07860064422 in your phone contacts and then message the word ‘Hi'.

GP appointments are available at Darlaston Health Centre, Pinfold Health Centre, Broadway Medical Practice and Portland Medical Practice during the following times:
Weekday evenings: 6.30pm - 9.00pm
Weekends: 10.00am - 3.00pm (Excluding Darlaston Health Centre and Portland Medical Practice)
Bank Holidays: 11.00am - 1.30pm

Flu Clinics 2019
You can now book in to receive your Flu Jab, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
Patients who are entitled to book are:
- Pregnant women
- People aged 65 and over
- A person with Diabetes
- A person with a BMI over 40
Or if you have a long-term condition of the following:
- Asthma / COPD patients
- Heart patients
- Brain or nervous system
- Immune system
NHS England has made changes to the types of medicines available on prescription for minor illnesses and ailments.

Try the new NHS App
You will soon be able to use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
If you already use online access you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

App to replace paper maternity notes
From Tuesday 7 May 2019, women who attend a new antenatal booking will no longer receive handheld maternity notes.
Women who want access to their notes will need to download the ‘Maternity Notes’ app. Benefits of the app include:
- Week-by-week overview of baby’s development
- Easy access to appointment notes
- Access to information and other guidance
- Notification of upcoming events (appointments, scans, blood tests etc.)
- A personalised birthing plan
- A diary where women can record thoughts and feelings

Are you taking gabapentin or pregabalin?
(Lyrica, Alzain, Neurontin)
The law is changing from 1st April 2019 and Pregabalin and gabapentin are being reclassified as controlled drugs.
Your GP and local pharmacy will ensure you continue to get the medicines you need. Please remember to order your medicines in good time.

Cervical Cancer is Preventable
Cervical screening saves approximately 5000 women’ lives annually in the UK.
The most common Cancer in women aged 25-29 and the second most common Cancer in women under 35 years old in Europe.
1000 women die due to Cervical Cancer each year.
Cervical Cancer is preventable in the majority of cases through cervical cytology screening and vaccination against HPV (Human Papilloma Virus).
Cervical cytology screening is available to women aged 25 - 64, if you haven’t been screened, contact your GP or Practice Nurse.

It provides lots of information and guidance about diabetes in a quick and easy to navigate format. Articles include;
- how to monitor your blood glucose levels

The app also helps you keep track of test results from your annual reviews including: HbA1c, blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI. All data is stored securely and locally on your device.

08.00 – 18:30 Monday - Friday.
We subcontract to WALDOC between the hours of 13:00 and 15:50 and between 18:00 and 18:30

The Practice is pleased to provide patients with access to its Clinical System via a Secure Web Interface.
You can book and cancel your appointments, request repeat medication and view medical records on line. To do this you need to register with the practice and obtain a password to enable you to access this service. Once your registration account is created you will need to come into the surgery with your passport or driving licence so that your account can be activated you will be able to use the system to book and cancel appointments, request repeat medication and view medical records as required. Please complete an application form available from reception.

About the Practice
Little London Surgery is a purpose-built building which has been extended over the years to provide a greater range of services. We aim to offer you a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere with access, parking and facilities for the disabled.
We hold a General Medical Services (GMS) contract to supply NHS services with NHS England Jubilee House, Bloxwich Lane Walsall, WS2 7JL.
This surgery website is used to present all our patients with up to date news and information about our practice. We will keep it current with any developments or other details that we feel are relevant to you. Have a look around our website and please do send us some feedback. We can use your thoughts to improve our online services & further develop the website to make it more useful for our patients.

We are part of the Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) which is part of the NHS.
