Research

This surgery is participating in a new study

IRAS Study ID: 304871 REC Reference: 22/HRA/2607 CUREC Ref: R79496/RE001 CPMS ID: 53490

What is this study?

The study will explore whether web-based education tools can improve medication prescribing in people with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and/or diabetes. The study is being conducted by a research group from the University of Oxford, in collaboration with the Diabetes Research Centre, University of Leicester, and researchers from the University of Surrey.

How will the study be carried out?

Healthcare professionals will view online tutorials covering medication prescribing according to national guidelines. A practice dashboard will be used to provide feedback on medication prescribing. Patient data will not be entered into the dashboard, as it is simply an assistance tool.

How will it affect me?

This project does not affect patients directly, so your appointment experience will continue as normal. No additional treatment or assessments will be needed. Any patient information provided by the surgery is treated in the strictest confidence, and it is not possible to relate any results to you personally. Patient information is entered into your practice’s clinical system as usual, the dashboard will not extract data.

If you would like to find out more about this study, please contact the MONITORY Team at MONITORY.enquiries@phc.ox.ac.uk.
